Process Engineer – Post-Lamination
Take ownership of the process. Improve the factory. Shape the future of solar manufacturing
Do you enjoy tackling complex manufacturing challenges? Do you like working on the production floor, improving processes, analysing data and making machines perform better every day?
We are looking for a Process Engineer Who wants to take ownership of and continuously improve one of the most critical stages in our photovoltaic manufacturing process: Pre-lamination.
At Solarge, we are redefining the solar industry by manufacturing lightweight, all-plastic photovoltaic modules. Unlike conventional glass panels, our technology enables solar applications where weight, durability and flexibility are crucial. As we rapidly scale up production, you will have the opportunity to develop processes, optimise equipment and directly influence the performance of our factory.
What we offer
Joining Solarge means becoming part of an ambitious and innovative manufacturing company that is shaping the future of sustainable energy. We believe that great engineers deserve the right environment in which to grow, make a difference and enjoy coming to work.
Here is what you can expect:
- Competitive salary between €3,750.00 and €5,000.00 gross per month, depending on your experience and background
- 30 days’ holiday, giving you plenty of time to recharge
- Travel allowance of €0.30 per kilometre or full reimbursement of public transport costs
- An annual vitality budget to invest in your health and wellbeing
- Fresh lunch provided every day
- A sound pension scheme
- A hands-on engineering role with responsibility for an entire manufacturing process
- Plenty of opportunities to develop your technical skills and grow with a rapidly expanding manufacturing company
- The opportunity to work on innovative technology that contributes directly to the global energy transition
What you will be working on
As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for everything that happens before the module enters the laminator.
Your remit includes:
- Back-sheet loading & Plug processing
- Placement of the encapsulant and front sheet
- Stringing & lay-up
- Car-bus connection
- EL inspection
- Rework processes
Your mission is simple:
Increase yield, reduce defects, maximise equipment uptime and make the production process predictable, repeatable and scalable.
This isn’t an office job. You will spend time on the production floor, work closely with operators and technicians, analyse production data and solve real manufacturing problems.
What you will do:
- Own and optimise the entire pre-lamination process
- Improve process capability (Cp/Cpk) by reducing variation
- Investigate defects such as cell cracking, bonding issues and encapsulant flow using structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, DOE)
- Design and carry out process experiments to validate improvements
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), yield and throughput
- Reduce scrap, downtime and changeover losses
- Develop SOPs, control plans, FMEAs and process documentation
- Support the introduction of new materials, products and equipment
- Commission new production equipment and implement robust processes in production
- Train operators and technicians in process standards and best practices
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, R&D and Procurement
What we are looking for
You are passionate about manufacturing technology and enjoy combining hands-on engineering with analytical thinking.
You bring:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Materials or Process Engineering
- 2–4 years’ experience as a Process Engineer in manufacturing
- Experience with structured problem-solving methods (8D, DOE, SPC, Root Cause Analysis)
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- A hands-on approach – you enjoy being right at the heart of the process
- Experience in electronics, assembly manufacturing, soldering or photovoltaic production is a major advantage
- Fluent in English (Dutch would be an advantage)
- Eligibility to work in the Netherlands (no visa sponsorship available)
What makes this role interesting?
- Own an entire manufacturing process – not just a single machine
- Work with advanced automation and innovative solar technology
- Solve real engineering challenges that have a measurable impact on quality, yield and productivity
- Be part of a fast-growing manufacturing environment where your improvements are quickly reflected on the production line
- Work closely with engineering, operations and R&D to help shape the next generation of solar manufacturing
You’ll thrive here if you…
- Like solving technical puzzles
- Enjoy combining data with hands-on engineering
- I prefer improving processes to maintaining the status quo
- Because taking ownership rather than simply following procedures
- Derive satisfaction from seeing yesterday’s improvements reflected in today’s production results
If you’re looking for a role where engineering decisions have a direct impact on manufacturing performance and product quality, we’d love to hear from you!
