Process Engineer – Post-Lamination
Engineer the final stage of next-generation solar manufacturing
Do you enjoy improving manufacturing processes where precision, quality and reliability come together? Are you someone who likes solving production challenges using data, engineering expertise and hands-on problem solving?
We are looking for a Process Engineer who will take ownership of our Post-Lamination production process and help build one of the world’s most innovative solar manufacturing facilities.
At Solarge, we are changing the solar industry by producing lightweight, full-plastic photovoltaic modules. Our technology enables applications where conventional glass panels simply aren’t an option. As we continue scaling production, we are looking for engineers who want to improve processes, optimize equipment and make a measurable impact every single day.
What we offer
Joining Solarge means becoming part of an ambitious and innovative manufacturing company that’s shaping the future of sustainable energy. We believe great engineers deserve the right environment to grow, make an impact and enjoy coming to work.
Here is what you can expect:
- Competitive salary between €3.750,00 – €5.000,00 gross per month, depending on your experience and background
- 30 vacation days, giving you plenty of time to recharge
- Travel allowance of €0,30 per kilometer or full reimbursement of public transport costs
- An annual vitality budget to invest in your health and wellbeing
- Fresh lunch provided every day
- A solid pension scheme
- A hands-on engineering role with ownership of an entire manufacturing process
- Plenty of opportunities to develop your technical skills and grow with a fast-scaling manufacturing company
- The chance to work on innovative technology that contributes directly to the global energy transition
What you will be working on
As Process Engineer, you will own the complete manufacturing process after the module leaves the laminator.
Your scope includes:
- Edge trimming & finishing
- Edge sealing
- Junction box bonding & potting
- Curing processes
- Cleaning
- EL inspection
- Electrical & safety testing
- Final inspection
- Sorting & packaging
Your mission is simple:
Deliver consistent product quality while increasing yield, improving OEE and building robust manufacturing processes that scale with production growth.
This role combines hands-on engineering on the production floor with structured, data-driven process improvement. You’ll spend time troubleshooting equipment, analyzing production data, improving manufacturing stability and implementing sustainable process improvements.
What you will do
- Own and continuously improve all post-lamination processes
- Optimize process parameters and increase process capability (Cp/Cpk)
- Investigate quality issues using structured Root Cause Analysis (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, DOE)
- Design and execute statistically sound process experiments
- Improve OEE, throughput and first-pass yield
- Reduce scrap, downtime and changeover losses
- Develop SOPs, control plans, work instructions and FMEAs
- Support preventive maintenance strategies and equipment reliability
- Lead the introduction and ramp-up of new equipment and manufacturing processes
- Support qualification of new materials and product configurations together with R&D
- Train operators and technicians on process standards and best practices
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Procurement and R&D to continuously improve factory performance
What we are looking for
You enjoy solving manufacturing problems and have the technical curiosity to understand why processes behave the way they do. You are analytical, pragmatic and enjoy seeing the direct impact of your improvements on the production line.
You will bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Materials or Process Engineering
- 2-4 years of experience as a Process Engineer in manufacturing
- Experience working with production equipment and preventive maintenance (CMMS knowledge is an advantage)
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- A hands-on mindset – you enjoy working on the factory floor as much as behind your laptop
- Experience in electronics, assembly manufacturing or photovoltaic production is a plus, but not required
- Fluent in English (Dutch is an advantage)
- Eligibility to work in the Netherlands (no visa sponsorship available)
Why you will enjoy this role
- Own a complete manufacturing process with real technical responsibility
- Improve advanced automated production equipment and manufacturing performance
- Solve complex engineering challenges that directly impact product quality and factory output
- Work in a fast-growing high-tech manufacturing environment where your improvements quickly become visible
- Collaborate with engineering, operations and R&D to help shape the future of sustainable energy manufacturing
You will thrive here if you…
- Like finding the real cause behind technical problems
- Enjoy combining data analysis with practical engineering
- Want ownership instead of routine
- Like improving machines, processes and manufacturing performance
- Get energy from seeing measurable improvements in quality, efficiency and productivity
If you are looking for an engineering role where your work directly improves manufacturing performance and helps accelerate the transition to sustainable energy, we’d love to meet you!
