Process Engineer – Post-Lamination
Own the process. Improve the factory. Shape the future of solar manufacturing
Do you enjoy solving complex manufacturing challenges? Do you like being on the production floor, improving processes, analyzing data and making machines perform better every day?
We are looking for a Process Engineer who wants to own and continuously improve one of the most critical stages in our photovoltaic manufacturing process: Pre-Lamination.
At Solarge, we are redefining the solar industry by manufacturing lightweight, full-plastic photovoltaic modules. Unlike conventional glass panels, our technology enables solar applications where weight, durability and flexibility truly matter. As we rapidly scale production, you will have the opportunity to build processes, optimize equipment and directly influence the performance of our factory.
What we offer
Joining Solarge means becoming part of an ambitious and innovative manufacturing company that’s shaping the future of sustainable energy. We believe great engineers deserve the right environment to grow, make an impact and enjoy coming to work.
Here is what you can expect:
- Competitive salary between €3.750,00 – €5.000,00 gross per month, depending on your experience and background
- 30 vacation days, giving you plenty of time to recharge
- Travel allowance of €0,30 per kilometer or full reimbursement of public transport costs
- An annual vitality budget to invest in your health and wellbeing
- Fresh lunch provided every day
- A solid pension scheme
- A hands-on engineering role with ownership of an entire manufacturing process
- Plenty of opportunities to develop your technical skills and grow with a fast-scaling manufacturing company
- The chance to work on innovative technology that contributes directly to the global energy transition
What you will be working on
As Process Engineer, you will become the technical owner of everything that happens before the module enters the laminator.
Your scope includes:
- Back-sheet loading & Plug processing
- Encapsulant and front-sheet placement
- Stringing & lay-up
- Auto-bussing
- EL inspection
- Rework processes
Your mission is straightforward:
Increase yield, reduce defects, maximize equipment uptime and make the production process predictable, repeatable and scalable.
This isn’t a desk job. You will spend time on the production floor, work closely with operators and technicians, analyze production data and solve real manufacturing problems.
What you will do:
- Own and optimize the complete pre-lamination process
- Improve process capability (Cp/Cpk) by reducing variation
- Investigate defects such as cell cracking, bonding issues and encapsulant flow using structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, DOE)
- Design and execute process experiments to validate improvements
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), yield and throughput
- Reduce scrap, downtime and change-over losses
- Develop SOPs, control plans, FMEAs and process documentation
- Support the introduction of new materials, products and equipment
- Commission new production equipment and transfer robust processes into production
- Train operators and technicians on process standards and best practices
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, R&D and Procurement
What we are looking for
You have a passion for manufacturing technology and enjoy combining hands-on engineering with analytical thinking.
You bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Materials or Process Engineering
- 2-4 years of experience as a Process Engineer in manufacturing
- Experience with structured problem solving (8D, DOE, SPC, Root Cause Analysis)
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Hands-on mindset – you enjoy being where the process happens
- Experience in electronics, assembly manufacturing, soldering or photovoltaic production is a strong advantage
- Fluent in English (Dutch is an advantage)
- Eligibility to work in the Netherlands (no visa sponsorship available)
What makes this role interesting?
- Own an entire manufacturing process – not just a single machine
- Work with advanced automation and innovative solar technology
- Solve real engineering challenges with measurable impact on quality, yield and productivity
- Be part of a fast-growing manufacturing environment where your improvements quickly become visible on the production line
- Work closely with engineering, operations and R&D to help shape the next generation of solar manufacturing
You will thrive here if you…
- Like solving technical puzzles
- Enjoy combining data with hands-on engineering
- Prefer improving processes over maintaining the status quo
- Want ownership instead of simply following procedures
- Get satisfaction from seeing yesterday’s improvement reflected in today’s production results
If you are looking for a role where engineering decisions directly influence manufacturing performance and product quality, we would love to hear from you!
